Kirsten Fernandez, who is an Eagle participant at The First Tee of San Jose, was recently designated “The First Tee Scholar – Class of 2010.” In Kirsten’s congratulatory letter, Joe Louis Barrow, Jr., who is the CEO of The First Tee, said, “Your application shows that you are a very hard worker and an active, contributing member of The First Tee of San Jose. Your participation in so many extracurricular activities is also significant and very compelling. You are obviously a very talented and motivated young achiever!” Congratulations, Kirsten!
The First Tee Scholars Program provides qualified participants of The First Tee a gateway to a successful future through higher education. More than 20 colleges and universities throughout the United States have partnered with The First Tee, offering a range of merit-based scholarships that provide assistance with the expense of attending a college or university. Named scholarships donated by individuals and corporations are also awarded annually and can be used at any accredited institution.
