Introduction The First Tee of San Jose is a program of the San Jose Sports Authority, the sports marketing arm for the City of San Jose. We work in cooperation with the City of San José Department of Parks, Recreation & Neighborhood Services. Fall 2009 marked the beginning of a cooperative relationship with the City of Palo Alto and Palo Alto Golf Course where we began programming.
Our purpose is to develop youth through golf throughout Silicon Valley. Our mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character developmentand life-enhancing values through the game of golf. Participants learn to appreciate diversity, resolve conflicts, build confidence and set goals for their future. Programs focus on Nine Core Values – honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy andjudgment.
